Tuesday 31st January – Skiing, problem solving, swimming, games & clubs night

It has been an exciting day here at camp and everyone has had a busy and exciting time. Some of our new campers have learn’t to snow plow and stop and have been testing out the button lift. Our other campers enjoyed some snow up the mountain! It was very exciting and everyone did fantastic in the conditions. Fingers crossed for more snow!

This afternoon we had lots of optional activities on offer. One group visited the pool and had fun splashing around while another group took part in some problem solving games. The rest of our campers played on the Wii, in the games room or made some bracelets.

After a traditional Swiss dinner of raclette we had clubs night. As part of our club night tonight we had a Harry Potter themed yoga session which went down a treat! We also had healthy eating group who did fruit carving while another group baked some yummy cookies. We also had some arts & crafts and design & build where they made bridges. It was a great day and everyone is looking forward to skiing or excursions!



30th January – Skiing, Snowboarding, Verbier Hunt, Music Video, Escape Rooms and SNOW!

Finally we have had some snow fall here in Verbier and all the groups and instructors were very excited about the prospect of fresh snow tomorrow. Conditions have been tough lately but the groups have coped so well and are getting better day by day. Some of our snowboarders, who had never snowboarded in their life before last week are now comfortably making it down blue and red runs, executing their turns very well. Our advanced groups are learning to carve, and on icy conditions sometimes this can be hard however their instructors are very impressed with their efforts so far. For most of our beginners it was their second and last day on Les Esserts and tomorrow will be taking the big move up the mountain. Well done to them!!

Back at camp this afternoon we welcomed two new schools from Switzerland who went out snow shoeing as soon as they arrived. They had a lot of fun. Our school groups then took part in a Verbier Hunt where they had to find different places around Verbier and take the best pictures. A winner will be revealed later on in the week. Our individuals also headed into town, whilst some stayed and went to Languages or the swimming pool.

Tonight we did a massive group music video which went down well with all the children and they can’t wait to see the end result on Friday. There were some very nice dance moves and acrobats. Half of our individuals challenged themselves to the escape rooms in town, where they got locked into a room, which they had to crack the clues to break out of. Now there are some super tired faces, so off to bed for everyone!

29th January – First day on the mountain, Town, Languages, Swimming and Ice Skating

We have had a brilliant day here in Verbier with a lot of happy faces going to bed tonight. For some it was their first day on the mountain today and they have all done so well. Our beginners are starting off in Les Esserts, learning to snow plough and control their stops and turns. We have had plenty of falls but also many laughs. They are very chuffed with their progress. All intermediate and advanced skiers covered a lot of ground today, exploring new areas of the mountain and working on their parallel turns and carving.

This afternoon some of individuals went to language classes, putting their brains to the test to learn a new language. Others opted for a trip to town or to stay and relax at camp. Our school groups also ventured into town for the first time to see what Verbier had to offer, whilst the other half went for a dip at the pool!

Tonight after dinner we were straight back into activities, heading to the sports centre for Ice Skating. We had a great time and some even had a go at ice hockey.


28th January – Skiing, Snowboarding, Bowling, Arrivals & Departures

Today was a very busy day at Les Elfes with many of our campers departing us but that also meant we had many new campers joining us which is super exciting.

The campers who are staying with us for another week had the option to ski and snowboard or go bowling down in Martigny and have some lunch off campus for a change.
This afternoon we have had a new school arrive and after ski fitting the eager campers visited Verbier village to show them around and get any last minute necessities.

After dinner we had more arrivals who will be ski fitted tomorrow and joined in with all the other campers  for a movie and chill out night as most of the campers were very tired from travelling and a early night for the big day tomorrow

27th January – Skiing, Snowboarding, Town, Prize Giving & Departures

It has been a crazy week full of fun and excitement but tonight it was some of our campers last night at Les Elfes so it has been an emotional day. All our groups out on the mountain have done so well, reaching amazing levels and learning so many new skills. Some of our skiers and snowboarders are now level 4 and 5 and for those that were beginners at the start of the week are now reaching level 2 and comfortably getting down blue slopes. All the instructors are very proud of them and it was clear they have all had a great week with lot’s of amazing memories.

This afternoon, most of our campers ventured into town to buy some last minute souvenirs for friends and family back home. Tonight we had our weekly prize giving where the instructors gave out their medals and prizes from race day. There were some surprise winners and lot’s of smiley faces, so well done to everyone who took part. The animation team also gave out star camper prizes and said their final goodbyes to those who are leaving tomorrow. We hope everyone has had an amazing trip and we hope to see you all again soon!!

26th January – Race Day, Games & Disco Night!!

We’ve had an exciting morning here in Verbier with our ski race kicking off in La Chaux. Over breakfast everyone was chatting about the race wondering who will be awarded the gold, silver and bronze medals tomorrow. All the children did very well and we had some very quick results, especially from our Swiss School. Our beginner groups were very chuffed with their achievments, considering at the start of the week some of them had never been skiing or Snowboarding before. After the race they enjoyed more runs in the beautiful sunshine.

This afternoon, after a busy fun filled week, a lot of our students opted to rest at Les Elfes, joining in with games such as Table Tennis, Pool, Bracelet making, and Card Games. It was nice for them to just chill out after an energised day.. Everyone had a fantastic time dancing away tonight at our Disco in town. The tunes were pumping and everyone hit the dance floor following some of our monitors dance routines and having a good time. Now it’s time for some much needed sleep.


January 25th 2017 – Skiing, Snowboarding and Excursion day

It was an exciting morning here at Les Elfes today with some of the campers heading off on various excursions around Switzerland whilst others enjoyed a another beautiful sunny day on the slopes.

The campers skiing and snowboarding are progressing and perfecting their skills fast most of them now have moved off of the baby slope and onto the mountain.

Some other campers enjoyed a awesome day experiencing some local food at the cheese and chocolate factories before a spot of shopping in Vervey whilst the other campers opted for the Olympic museum and shopping in Lausanne.
Everyone arrived back at Les Elfes for dinner and a fun filled evening of La Fureur which is a energetic music quiz.
After the huge day here everyone is now off to bed to get some much needed rest for tomorrow when everyone hits the slopes again.

24th January – Skiing, Snowboarding, Town, Games and Clubs Night

Today there was a lot of excitement during breakfast as many of the groups were heading up the mountain for the first time. The instructors are so impressed with their ability and progress and you can tell the children are very happy with their achievements and should be so proud of themselves. We had a few falls up on the slopes but all the groups were laughing at lunch telling tales of the best falls and collisions. Their snow plough turns are coming on nicely and are gradually slipping a few parallel turns in there. Our more advanced groups today covered a lot of ground are preparing for race day on thursday.

This afternoon a lot of our school children and individuals went into town, buying souvenirs for home as well plenty of swiss chocolate. Yum. Tonight our schools had clubs night so there were a mixture of activities going on including cooking club, design and build and problem solving. In cooking we made some amazing cookies, the best all season and some healthy blueberry oat muffins. Our individuals had the chance to go out into town for dine out to enjoy some local swiss cuisine such as fondue. They certainly had a great time!!

23rd January – Skiing, Snowboarding, Swimming, Sledging & Music Video

Everyone here at camp are doing so well out on the mountain and progressing massively. In particular our beginners have come on leaps and bounds today, their instructors are so happy with what they have achieved and hopefully many of the groups will be making their first attempts on blue slopes which they are all excited about. Up the mountain today the children have been practicing their parallel turns and some are advancing on to carving. The sun has been shining all day so there are some very smiley faces.

Back at camp we had a more chilled afternoon as some of the children were super tired from all their hard work. Most chose to chill out and watch a movie in the cinema room, whilst others did bracelet making and played jungle speed. For those with a bit more energy, headed out sledging, whizzing down the hill on plastic trays and others splashed around in the pool at the sports centre.

Tonight we had a mixture of activities. Our school groups participated in a Music Video which was great fun, full of dancing and laughter. They are all excited to watch it at the end of the week. Our individuals had a ‘Casino’ styled night, with card games, poker and much more. Everyone is now in bed ready for a new day tomorrow!!

January 22nd 2017 – Skiing, Snowboarding, Snow Games & Ice Skating

What a day here at Les Elfes.
Today was a beautiful sunny day here on the slopes and super exciting for all the campers as it was the first day on snow or even seeing snow for many of them.
The groups practiced perfecting their skills skier’s doing snow plows into parallel turns and snowboarders falling leaf heal and toe turn’s all the way into the afternoon where they got to enjoy a well deserved hot chocolate and snack whilst signing up for afternoon activities.
This afternoon some campers went swimming whilst others went outside to make snow angles and build snow people.
After dinner everyone went ice skating where most campers got into the spirit and joined into a game of ice hockey before heading back to Les Elfes for some warm hot chocolate and some well deserved sleep

21st January – Departure & Arrival Day, Skiing, Bowling & Movie Night

So today has been an emotional day for a lot of us here at camp as we have had many individuals leaving us who had been with us for one or two weeks. There were a lot of tears but it is great to know that so many friendships have been formed and lovely to see that they’re going to keep in touch with each other. However, we did have a lot of new arrivals today and everyone is getting to know each other over games of Uno, Cards and Jungle speed, whilst others are chilling out watching a movie.

During the day, our existing individuals had the option to go bowling and have a break from the mountain. Everyone had great fun and there were a few competitive games. The others chose not to have a break and continued to work on their technique as skiers and snowboarders and it was a lovely day to do so, with the sun shining and not a cloud in sight.

All our new arrivals have been kitted out with all their equipment needed for their first day on the mountain, and for some it is their first time on real snow! With exciting times ahead a lot of campers are having an early night ready to get up and go tomorrow.

Friday 20th January – Departures, skiing, village, prize giving

It has been a beautiful sunny day here in Verbier and all our campers had a super day skiing around the mountain. The snowboarders have seriously improved and have been working on drills to improve their balance and posture. The skiers have also enjoyed learning new tricks to add to their performance.

We had one school sadly depart after lunch, it has been a wonderful week with excellent skiing and lots of fun activities in the afternoon and evenings. Some of our individuals chilled out playing in the games room while some ventured into the village to enjoy a milkshake and a crepe!

Tonight we have prize giving to award our star campers, the tidiest rooms and announce the all important race results. All our instructors have been super impressed this week and are looking forward to congratulate their groups tonight.

19th January – Ski Race, Afternoon Activities and Disco Night!

What a day we have had here at Les Elfes. The standard of skiing and snowboarding has been super high this week with everyone eager to learn. Anticipation filled the air out on the mountain as the groups waited for their turn for race day. The timings were extremely close as everyone battled it out for that chance to win the gold medal. All the children find out their results tomorrow, so Good Luck to them all!!

There was no time to stop and relax back at camp as there were plenty of activities on offer. A lot of the girls joined in with bracelet making which they found very fun and learnt the techniques quickly. A small group chose again to go sledging, whizzing down the hill and creating new crazy runs. Others picked to join in with games such as table tennis, Wii, pool, and table football and after we put on a movie to chill out to.

Tonight was the exciting part. All our school groups and individuals danced the night away at our weekly Disco. Everyone had a brilliant time and the tunes were flowing. There was a great vibe and a good buzz, it was nice to see everyone getting along, smiling and enjoying their time away from home. One girl said it was ‘the best time of her life!’

January 18th 2017- Skiing, Snowboarding & Excursion Day

A beautiful sunny morning here at Les Elfes and a lot of excitement this morning as some of our individuals and schools headed out on various excursions around Switzerland. Some visited the Cailler chocolate factory, some to the Charlie Chaplin museum and some to Italy. Back in Verbier all the others made the most of the amazing weather out on the slopes practicing their turns and learning new skills.

This afternoon some of the campers went swimming, sledging up behind Les Elfes and also baking some delicious chocolate brownies which were eaten tonight for dessert.
One group are sadly leaving us and so they with their instructors from the week had a prize giving and presentation to celebrate their week here with us. Another group enjoyed an exciting game of La Fureur which is a interactive music quiz. The rest of our individuals spent the evening cooking and eating at their chalets and played some games in the evening.
Everyone here has had a very fun filled exhausting day and are now off to bed ready for another awesome day to tomorrow.



17th January – Skiing, Snowboarding, Swimming, Sledging and Who Wants to be a Millionaire!

Verbier looked super pretty this morning with the beautiful sunshine beating down on the snowy mountains. The air was fresh but the children were all wrapped up warm and ready to get out on the slopes again to continue learning from their amazing instructors. Some groups are learning to parallel turn whilst others are beginning to carve around the mountain. Our beginners are progressing quickly and most of them will be heading up to the top very soon.

Back at camp there were a mixture of activities on offer and there was an exciting vibe in the air. The children had a crazy time sledging back out in the snow whilst others went swimming or made some delicious cookies. Some of individuals headed to languages and others strolled into town to look around the shops and visit some cafes.

Tonight our school group had a lot of fun participating in Who Want To Be A Millionaire, which got very competitive but showed just how clever our campers are. We also had Boys vs Girls for our Individuals who completed different games and challenges to see who are the ultimate champions! All in all we have had a fantastic day here in Verbier!!

Monday 16th January – Skiing, sledging, swimming, music video & dine out

Today has been a brilliant day and we are all happy to welcome our new school here at Les Elfes. Upon arrival it was time for lunch before meeting their new instructors and heading up the mountain. They are all experienced skiers and boarders but it is the first time in Verbier for most. Everyone was super positive about their day back at camp and loved skiing in the fresh powder! Our existing groups had a blast today as conditions were great and they are all impressing the instructors with their dedication to learning.

This afternoon we had lots of activities on offer, sledging, baking, swimming and games. The sledgers had an awesome time riding down the mountain on bum boards, the bakers made some delicious cookies and our swimmers splashed around playing some games in the water. The atmosphere has been brilliant all evening, filming our very own music video. The campers were split into groups and came up with their own choreographies to their piece of music. We had some great clips and we are all looking forward to seeing the finished edit at prize giving. Elsewhere our individual campers spent their evening enjoying a meal in town. The italian restaurant was lovely and it was a nice experience for them to dine out together.



Sunday 15th January – Skiing, sledging, games & ice skating!

Sunday has almost come to an end and we have enjoyed every minute of it! Everyone has been making the most of the powder and good visibility today. Our beginners have made real improvement learning how to stop and turn while our advanced campers have started to improve their technical side to skiing and snowboarding.

This afternoon a couple campers were keen to try out sledging and so we hiked up a little way and enjoyed whizzing down the mountain. As soon as the powder was compressed the sledges were running super fast, the boys loved it! Back at camp we had lots of table games with a big game of Uno on the go as well.

This evening we all headed to the ice rink for some skating and had a brilliant time racing round. On return there was some lovely hot chocolate to warm us all up.


Saturday 14th Jan – Skiing, Snowboarding & Aquatic park.

Today was another amazing day at Les Elfes and on the snow for the campers waking up this morning a little later than usual after a well deserved lie in to more fluffy white snow.
Half of the campers headed up the slopes for a awesome day skiing and snowboarding in all the fresh snow whilst the other half enjoyed a great day at the aquatic park and we also got some new campers from Brazil and Argentina.
This afternoon most of the campers were exhausted from skiing and snowboarding but headed into the village for a mini tour and a spot of shopping whist some of the others decided a relaxing afternoon at Les Elfes was needed.
After dinner most of the campers opted for a movie night whilst others decided to play card games and have a jam session with the guitar before bed.
Everyone is off to bed now to get some sleep for tomorrow as they will all have a big day of skiing and snowboarding and tomorrow also promises to be sunny.

Friday 13th January – SKiing, arrivals, excursion & prize giving

This morning started off with a bang! Everyone was eager to get downstairs to put their boots on and get out skiing and snowboarding on the fresh snow. We have had heaps of snow during the night which continued into today so a powder day for everyone! All our campers persevered through many snow storms and were determined to stay out even in tough conditions. Some groups enjoyed a quick hot chocolate on mountain before carrying on.

Due to the hard conditions today many campers were extremely tired so opted to stay and relax at camp or headed to the village. We also welcomed a new group from China this evening who had spent their first day visiting Chateau de Chillion. They are all excited to be here and are ready to be ski fitted and get a good nights sleep after a long journey!

Also this evening we had our prize giving for our individuals and school from Dubai. It was a chance for our monitors and instructors to thank and congratulate the campers for such a wonderful week.




Thursday 12th January – Skiing, race day, swimming, baking & disco!

We have all had a fantastic time here in Verbier with lots of activities going on. This morning everyone was up early for breakfast raring to hit the slopes. It was race day here so everyone had their game face on ready for the tough competition. All groups did brilliantly and are eagerly waiting for the results tomorrow at prize giving. Everyone did loads of skiing around and took in lots of skiing knowledge from their instructors.

Back at camp we had hot chocolate and snacks ready for their arrival. Some children from the schools took the option to swim this afternoon so headed to the pool for lots of races and games. We also had some shortbread making which turned out really well and JustDance going on in the cinema room for some of the girls to show off their moves! Tonight everyone was all dressed up and excited for the disco out in town. It was a brilliant night with some super tunes and great dancing from all our campers!


11th January – Skiing, Snowboarding, Excursion & Chalet Night

Today has been jam packed with activities, excursions, skiing and snowboarding.

Our school’s and a few individuals put on their warm winter clothes and headed out to different parts of the mountain to explore new areas and work on their techniques. Amazingly, nearly all our beginner groups today joined the rest of the groups at the top at for some of them it was their first time ever up a mountain. The beautiful sunshine helped keep motivations high and they did so well, all the instructors are very proud of what they have achieved in only a few days. Our new snowboarders are now able to link their turns and are falling less and less everyday!

Our individuals today had the opportunity to go on excursion and were able to discover new areas of Switzerland. They had a great time at the new Nestle Factory which was very interactive and modern. Then they managed to fit in a bit of shopping in Vevey which they were extremely pleased about and also had the chance to visit the United Nations in Geneva, the second largest in the world and a very interesting, important building.

Tonight there has been a lot going on, including a torch light walk up the mountain, a very competitive and exciting Music Quiz/Game show as well as a mexican styled ‘Fajita’ night in the chalets for our individuals to chill out and bond over board games.
