This morning our campers woke up to a slightly whiter Verbier, with a layer of snow covering the ground! For some of our Individuals, they had never seen snow before today so it was pretty exciting heading out to the mountain for the first time after breakfast. Our beginners have been working very hard with their instructors trying to learn the basics to skiing and snowboarding. They came back all smiles and full of stories about falling over and having a good time. For our more experienced skiers and boarders, they managed to cover a lot of the pistes, getting back into the swing of things. We’re definitely in for a promising week. Tonight we had fun making a music video and choreographing our own dances.
Sadly, it was our school’s last day today, but they have had the best time out on the mountain and ended their week with a prize giving and slideshow.
We have more snow here in Verbier at last which is lovely to see and extremely exciting for the children here on camp! The conditions were pretty difficult on the mountain today but everyone was still motivated and had a brilliant day. There has been many funny stories shared round of their time skiing which is great to hear. Unfortunately it was two of our groups last time on the mountain so they had to return their equipment this afternoon. They were all buzzing when they returned to camp and especially because they know they have learnt so much throughout the week.
Despite the poor weather conditions, the children were still determined to head to town and do some last minute girf shopping. They braved the cold to visit the souvenir and toy shops in town, there are some very lucky parents at home! Others chose to take their time with their packing and chill out at Les Elfes, with some games going on as well.
Tonight was the all important prize giving, a chance to reflect on the phenomenal week we have all had her in Verbier. Anticipation filled the air with the reveal of the race night and there were some very happy faces among the groups. We also gave out plenty of star camper awards and special prizes for the most improved and entertaining. To finish the week on a high we all gathered in the cinema room to watch their amazing music videos which they had made during the week as well as a slide show of some very funny pictures, a memorable moment.
We hope you have enjoyed your week as much as the we have, and hope to see you again soon!
This morning we woke up to rain in Verbier, however on a brighter note, it should mean plenty of snow up the mountain which is great news and extremely needed. For those that were skiing today were ready on time and prepared to face the challenge of skiing in the snow for the first time. The conditions were very different today which made skiing quite difficult, especially for some of our beginners, but they tried very hard and it has definitely paid off, as they are all chuffed with their achievements.
For two of our groups, they had a break from hitting the mountain today and are instead venturing out of Verbier to visit a bit of Swiss culture. Our school from the UAE were straight out the doors on to the bus and set off for Geneva, where they visited the United Nations as well as a spot of shopping in the City. It was a great chance for the older ones to learn about how Switzerland is a key country in helping to maintain peace and security around the world, and after had a well deserved break and lunch. Following this they then ended their trip at the magnificent chocolate factory and got the chance to sample some of Switzerland’s finest chocolates. YUM! Our individual campers also ditched their ski gear for the day and also had the opportunity to visit the famous cheese and chocolate factories here in Switzerland. They all had a great day and came back smiling with lot’s of goodies for friends and family back home.

Others took part in a photography stop motion class as well as a design and build challenge and a Drama club.
This morning was the last day on the mountain for most of our schools from Hong Kong. They are all super sad to be leaving their instructors and of course the snow, but they have had great fun throughout the week and have improved massively. Today, everyone enjoyed a BBQ lunch, even though the wind did pick up, but it was a great way to spend their last moments on the slopes. For the rest of the groups, they still have one more day to ski and board.
This afternoon a lot of our campers have been busy packing and getting checked out before they leave tomorrow. We also had a great prize giving, awarding everybody with their certificates and medals if they were in the top 3 for race day! We have all had a wonderful week with the students and they have all put in lot’s of effort and energy into skiing and evening activities.
Tonight we had an absolutely amazing time at our disco night in town, it was buzzing! All the students danced the evening away to some great tunes and the party atmosphere was great. Some of the students celebrated their last night jumping to the music, a wicked way to end their ski trip.
This morning was an exciting moment for some of our students as they went out onto the mountain for the first time ever. Our first timers headed to the beginners slope to learn the basic skills and get use to being on their ski’s and snowboard’s. They had great fun, took a few falls but all in all it has been a great day for them and are all doing well. All our instructors have been impressed with the effort put in which is great news on the first day. For our advanced skiers, they hit the red and black slopes to push their boundaries and some even fancied a few tricks in the snow park. As the conditions weren’t excellent today, everyone has done very well, so hopefully the energy levels remain high.
Back at camp, most students decided they would take a small walk into town to visit the local shops and cafes. After some delicious milk shakes and hot chocolates they head back to Les Elfes for dinner. After dinner the activities continued for all our groups. Most our school groups stayed at camp to take park in our exciting music video to Beat It. The moves were flowing and everyone was super enthusiastic to coordinate their dance moves. We can’t wait to watch it at the end of the week. For our Individuals and two other schools, it was their time to shine on the local ice rink. Some of our individuals definitely have the skills and could take part in dancing on ice for sure! On one end of the rink we set up a mini game of ice hockey which the boys loved, and got quite competitive.
It’s been a busy day today with plenty of departures and arrivals. It was sad to say goodbye to the children that left but it has been great fun getting to know all our new students who will be joining us for a week or two!
We kicked off the day with ski fitting, to ensure everyone is equipped and ready for their first day on the mountain. Everyone is hugely excited about hitting the slopes, and it sounds as though we are going to have some good skiers among us, as well as a few first timers. After getting everything sorted, we headed in to Verbier village, to show them all the main attractions and places to shop and eat. The sun was shining, so it was a beautiful walk surrounded by beautiful scenery. Back at Les Elfes the children were excited to get outside and play in the snow, as they don’t see much of it in their home countries. We had a snow man competition as well as a few snow ball fights for a laugh.
After a delicious dinner, some students chose to watch a movie and chill out downstairs whilst others with more energy played table tennis and table football. It definitely got quite competitive at times. We can see the students already mixing together well and getting to know each other which is great to see. For some who had been travelling all day, the exhaustion took over and there were some early nights in camp, meaning they will be on top form tomorrow after a good nights sleep.
We have kicked off the week with a great start and there is so much energy buzzing around camp. After a good, hearty breakfast the students got kitted and booted for their first day on the slopes. For a lot of the students it’s their first time skiing so to start with it was a bit daunting but they have put 100% effort in and loved every minute of it. The instructors are super impressed with all their hard work and they can tell it is already paying off. For those that have had some Ski/Snowboard experience, they headed further up the mountain for a quick ski off to test everyone’s ability. All in all it has been a great first morning so let’s hope they keep it up!
Back at Les Elfes, after some warm hot chocolate and yummy snacks, the fun and games continued. A lot of the children opted for some extreme excitement and headed back out in the snow for some sledging. For those that weren’t tired enough from skiing, also chose to go swimming or visit Verbier village.
Tonight’s activity continued to thrill as we all ventured over to the local sports centre for ice skating and ice hockey. After watching the last 15 minutes of a local but very competitive ice hockey match, it was then our turn to give it ago. We have all had great fun and returned back to camp wit huge smiles on our faces.
This morning we woke up to piles of soft, powdery snow and even more snow falling. After a good breakfast, all the children got mentally prepared for race day! With all the energy they needed everyone headed out to get competitive for the big race, with those all important medals up for grabs. The conditions haven’t been great today but it’s good to see that everyone put in all their effort to keep trying and learning new skills.
Back at camp, a lot of people decided to stay and relax at les elfes, and opted for some chilled out card games as well as billiards, table tennis and table football. For those who still had energy remaining, headed for the swimming pool and town.
Tonight we had a Swiss treat as for dinner it was time for cheese fondue! A lot of our students had never had the pleasure of trying this before so it was a great new experience for them, and most people loved it! After piling in the cheese and bread, we partied into the evening with our exciting Les Elfes Disco. People busted their moves and we even had a few dance offs which were very entertaining.
We definitely made the most of our extra day of the year today, and it was smiles all round at Les Elfes International.
The conditions weren’t the best today which made skiing a little tricky for our beginners but they pulled through and had lot’s of fun on the slope. With determination and hard work they are learning the skills quickly which is great news and everyone is beginning to master their snowplow nicely. On the mountain today, our level 3 and 4 skiers and snowboarders had fun trying out the ski cross and added a bit of competition to their day.
Back at camp, after some tasty hot chocolate and snacks, a lot of campers continued to brave the cold and snow and headed into the pretty town of Verbier, to visit the local shops and supermarkets, treating themselves to some well deserved goodies. Others chose to have a splash around in the pool and relax in the Jacuzzi or simply chilled out at les elfes and played games.
This evening after diner, we rocked it out to FloRida in our music video. All the groups had great fun creating their own dances and excitement filled the air. We can’t wait to watch the final video at the end of the week!
This morning everyone on camp was up bright and early and eager to get out on the slopes to show their Instructors what they are made of. Today there has been massive improvements and a lot of impressed instructors. Some groups who were on the beginners slope yesterday have already moved up to the main mountain which is amazing and shows true dedication and determination from all the children. With weather conditions also improving there has definitely been plenty of fun and laughter, with plenty of students eager to tell us their stories of their adventure today.
After refueling with a nice cup of hot chocolate and some bread and jam, the children were back in action with their afternoon activities. Not many of them want to rest so there were lots going on, including trips to Verbier Village, splashing around in the swimming pool and yet again some chose to have a crazy time sledging and snowman building.
This evening, after yet another lovely meal enjoyed by all, everyone took part in a music video activity where all the children got the chance to dress up and choreograph their own routine to part of a song. They all had great fun and there was some super dancing from all groups, we can’t wait to see the final product.
Today was a great day on the mountain, the weather conditions were amazing for skiing and snowboarding and our campers enjoyed their time on the slopes. Our campers are doing a big progress every day and we have only good feedback from our instructors!
Once back from skiing and snowboarding, all the groups had hot chocolate and snacks at Les Elfes and they had to sign up for the afternoon and evening activities. Many students decided to have a relaxing evening and stayed at the campus, due to the weather conditions suddenly changing, in contrast of the morning, we had a snowy afternoon. Other students decided to take advantage of the fresh snow and went sledging and some girls make snowmen behind Les Elfes building.
After dinner, three schools had Clubs Night. We gave the chance to the students to choose one of the different activities we had for the Clubs Night. Many kids enjoy the evening dancing, other signed up for pancakes club, some of the campers wanted to go for a walk at night holding the torches and having fun on the fresh snow and some others built airplanes with cardboard and made them flight from the balconies.
The other schools and individuals enjoyed their evening doing the Music Quiz and having fun with their monitors.
