We have had a busy day here in Verbier seeing off our departing campers and welcoming our new ones for summer session 5. It is great to see some returning faces and meet all the new students as well. Today our existing camper spent the day hiking around Verbier and then visited the outdoor this afternoon for a relax and a splash.

We took our new campers into town to have a look around before doing some team building games this evening to get know all the groups.

Tuesday 8th August – Excursion day & Music Video

Today we had excursion day to various parts of Switzerland which was fantastic despite the rainy weather! Some went to the chocolate and cheese factory and to Vevey to do some shopping while others went to Chamonix, France to visit the Alpine museum. The rest went to the Charlie Chaplin museum and the Neste factory. This evening we had a music video where the groups made a choreography to a dance which was pretty cool!

Monday 7th August –

We have had a wonderful day here at camp where all the students took part in clubs & optionals activities. The clubs on offer were leadership training, etiquette class, first aid, web identity, mountain fitness and cooking, arts & theatre. It was a great chance for everyone to meet new campers from different age groups and of course learn some essential life skills.

This afternoon many campers wandered into town to have a shop, some went to the outdoor pool for a swim and sunbathe and some stayed at camp for the volleyball and basketball. This evening the discovery group had a bin bag fashion show which they all enjoyed and had some great final outfits! The explorer and pioneer group had a BBQ at Le Hatey with a fire and some marshmellows. It was a lot of fun and we had an awesome game of predator afterwards! Tomorrow is excursion day which everyone is looking forward to.

Saturday 5th October – International Day, Boys v Girls, Dine Out

It has been a beautiful sunny day here in Verbier and another exciting day for our campers. We began with languages before having an International feast to celebrate having lots of different nationalities here. Everyone enjoyed lots of food from all over the world! This afternoon in our groups we made presentations about the countries we are from so we could share with others the different cultures, and funny facts! It was really interesting and everyone got involved which was great to see.

This evening our Discovery group had a scavenger hunt around the grounds finding different objects and photos which was amazing and very competitive. The Explorers had a Boys v Girls game show with lots of different challenges and games to complete with both teams performing brilliantly! The Pioneers spent the evening dining out in town at the local Italian restaurant which was nice and chilled with some tasty food. It has been a wonderful day and we are all looking forward to tomorrow.

 

 

July 31st – Mountain Biking, Trotinetting, Rock Climbing, The Cube & La Fureur

It has been a fun active day for our campers today. We began with languages this morning where everyone is learning lots of new vocabulary and sentences and impressing their teachers.

This afternoon the discovery group had sports day where they enjoyed some mountain biking, tennis and football in Sembracher. The explorer group spent the day mountain biking and trotinetting up the mountain which was a fantastic experience for them all! The pioneers headed to St Triphon to do some climbing which was great fun. They all progressed a lot and learnt some new things about knots and belaying.

This evening our groups took part in different game shows, a music quiz, and the cube which tested their speed, reactions and memory!

Sunday 23rd July – Mt Fort visit, mountain biking & climbing

Today has been a lovely sunny day and really active one for our campers on site. We began with languages for a couple of hours where they are learning more and more each day! It is great to hear them speaking different and new phrases!

This afternoon our discoveries enjoyed a trip in the gondala up to Mt Fort to look at the view and have a walk round. This evening they enjoyed a BBQ and games up at Le Hatay which was super fun with a fire and some marsh mellows as well!

Our explorers took part in Mountain biking and trottinetting today which was amazing. It  certainly was a challenge for most but one they will remember for ever! They all did brilliantly and made it in one piece. This evening they had a Boys v Girls game show with lots of fun team games! The girls came out on top winning by just one point!

The Pioneers spent the day down in St Triphon doing some rock climbing and then baked some yummy cookies this evening before a chilled movie night in the cinema room.

July 7th 2017 – Lake day, bridge swinging and prize giving!

We have had a fantastic final day of summer session two doing lots of different activities. The discoveries and explorers headed off to spend the day chilling at the lake taking part in all sorts of water sports. They had the chance to do a bit of paddle boarding, kayaking, tubing and banana boating which was great fun.

The pioneers had the opportunity to do some bridge swinging which was challenging but awesome and then tried some laser tag afterwards. This evening we all got together for prize giving where we handed out certificates and prizes to all the campers. We had a lovely evening celebrating everyone’s achievements. It has been an emotional evening with lots of tears as everyone said their goodbyes

Saturday 1st July – International Day & Music Video

It has been a brilliant day here in Verbier with everyone taking part in our international day. It is great here having many different nationalities to learn about and to mix with. We had languages this morning before a tasty feast with food from all over the world. This afternoon the campers were put into groups and they had to research the country they were from and then present to the rest what they had learn’t. It was a great way to get to know each other a bit more and find out some cool facts!

This evening we had music video which was great fun, the campers chose their groups to perform a small choreography in fancy dress! There were some brilliant routines and once we have put it all together we will show it at prize giving.

Monday 26th June – Sports Day, Lake Day, Ropes Course, Games Night

A super busy first day for all our campers here but a really exciting one as well! This morning started with languages for our students, they met their new groups and their teachers before beginning the lesson.

This afternoon the discovery group had sports day which involved lots of games such as

The explorers drove down to the lake to take part in some water sports. They got to try banana boating, paddleboarding, kayaking and enjoyed chilling out by the lake

The pioneers went to Sion ropes course this afternoon and tried lots of different routes some extremely challenging. They had a great time swinging around and zip wiring through the trees!

Tonight the discoveries took part in Boys v Girls game show with lots of challenges, the explorers enjoyed a loud and competitive music quiz and the Pioneers joined in the Cube game show to test their skills and reactions.

Sunday 25th – Arrival day, verbier hunt, team building games

It has been a very busy day on camp with all our staff welcoming the new arrivals. It is great to see children from all over the world here and everyone is starting to mix really well which is good. We played lots of games throughout the day and then visited verbier village this afternoon. On the way round the groups filled in a quiz to learn a bit more about Verbier itself.

This evening we did lots of team building exercises and games to get to know each other which was lots of fun! It was a chance to learn names, have a laugh and have a run around.

Everyone is now in bed getting some rest for tomorrows activities!

Friday 23rd June – Lake day, Bridge Swing, Prize Giving

It is our final day here for the majority of our campers and it has been an excellent day all round. The discoveries and explorers all went down to the lake to do some watersports such as banana boating, paddleboarding and kayaking which was super fun. They also played lots of games and enjoyed eating ice creams in the sun.

The pioneers had a brilliant time bridge swinging flying through the air. It was great to see them all challenge themselves and try something new. After that they all battled each other at laser tag running around trying to shoot the opposite team.

Tonight we had prize giving to celebrate an end to such a fantastic two weeks with our fabulous campers. We awarded prizes for tidy room, a mixture of games, special awards and finally our star campers of the session. It will be sad to see them leave and we hope to see them again next year!

Monday 19th – Optional activities & clubs night

Another fantastic day here with all our campers here in Verbier. Everyday they have so much energy and enthusiasm which is great to see. This morning we had optional activities such as arts & crafts, cooking, leadership, etiquette, first aid, career advice & mountain fitness. Each group got really into it and took a lot from the sessions such as teamwork, communication, life saving skills, manners and creativity.

This afternoon we had some golf lessons, tennis lessons and horse riding for those taking the courses. Similar to yesterday they were all ready to go and learn some new skills and techniques. Some campers chose to hang out and chill, play games or walked into the village to grab and ice cream and some snacks.

This evening we had clubs night where everyone got to choose their own activity to join in with. We had a football tournament, some volleyball and basketball drills to practice before a little match, a design and build competition and a journalism club. All of them were very successful

 

Sunday 18th June – Hiking, orienteering, mountain biking, music video

Today has been a super active day for all our campers here in Verbier. This morning our youngest group the discoveries had a sports day which involved some golf, tennis and mountain biking. They all did really well and had loads of fun trying new and different activities.

The explorers went on a hike and also learn’t some orienteering skills. The weather was very warm today so they also did brilliantly in the conditions. Some of our campers had their optional activities of horse riding and tennis today as well. The progression is amazing and they are having a really nice time with their instructors.

The pioneers had the opportunity to do some mountain biking as well as trotinetting up in Verbier from Ruinette all the way down to Medran. It was a difficult route but they all did a great job and stuck together helping each other out. To cool off after they had an ice cream break in the sunshine!

We had some well deserved free time this afternoon relaxing, playing games and having a catch up with their parents. Tonight we had music video which was super fun. In groups they had to create their own choreography to a piece of music in fancy dress. Once we have put the video together we will watch the final piece at prize giving!

Saturday 17th June

It has been an excellent day here with us all celebrating international day in style. In the morning our campers enjoyed their language lessons and they are all doing brilliantly. They helped with an environmental mountain clean up and managed to collect a lot of rubbish. Some of our students had the fantastic opportunity to try paragliding and had a great experience.

For lunch we had a buffet with food from all over the world which was delicious. Afterwards they made their own presentations in groups about their home countries to show everyone else. They got really into it and researched lots of new interesting facts. This afternoon we celebrated India’s Holi colour festival with lots of coloured powder, water fights and games.

Tonight we have a music quiz for the older groups and postcards home for the younger campers. It has been a brilliantly day and we are all looking forward to tomorrow.

Monday 13th July – Careers Day, Mountain Hike, Clubs

Every sessions we offer a one day leadership training course. The course is run by highly professional experts who developed a unique and fun-based approach. Our campers that attended the course today gained valuable practical skills, such as goal setting, presentation skills, group dynamics and the essence of time management, which was discussed and experienced through interactive presentations, great role-plays and exciting fun-filled games. Based on an interactive method, the students discovered their talents, interests and management styles and learned how to apply these elements in their future goals. Each student received a motivation profile and his personal talent definition.

The campers that did not participate in the leadership course enjoyed a beautiful hike up on the mountain.  They started from the top of the Carrefour hiked all the way up to the Baratan mountain hut for lunch and the walked down to the village passing through the Savoyleres tunnell and La Marlene. When they returned to campus had showers and ate dinner they joined various clubs such as dancing, cooking and Hollywood.

Monday 15th June – Session 1&2 – Career Day

Today the explorer campers had the chance to participate in a one day leadership training course. The course was run by highly professional experts who developed a unique and fun-based approach. Our campers gained valuable practical skills, such as goal setting, presentation skills, group dynamics and the essence of time management, which was discussed and experienced through interactive presentations, great role-plays and exciting fun-filled games.

The pioneers participated in a one-day career orientation workshop. Based on an interactive method, the students discovered their talents, interests and management styles and learned how to apply these elements in their professional orientation. Each student received a motivation profile and his personal talent definition.

The campers that did not participate in these two workshops enjoyed a beautiful hike up on the mountain and upon their return joined various clubs such as photography, cooking and build and design.

Rock climbing, mini golf, tennis, swimming, golf and mountain biking were all done today!

Today we had all groups in their language lessons first thing. They used this time to prepare their international presentations. After lunch they all took turns presenting facts about their country’s to the other campers. Then they broke up into the three groups for the afternoons activities.

Discovery – This afternoon the discovery kids had a sports day where the went to the outdoor pool and played beach volleyball

Explorer – This afternoon the explorers went to play some mini golf

Pioneers – After their presentations the pioneers went to do some rock climbing

All the groups went up to le Hattay. This is a BBQ spot we use halfway up the mountain in the forest. They had a nice BBQ our chefs provided and a lovely walk back as the sun set.
