11th April – Skiing, Snowboarding, Ice Skating,Baking, Dine out and Torch Light Walk
Another brilliant day out on the mountain for all our groups in Verbier. Some of our beginner groups who have already mastered their snow plough turns and stops hit the chair lift for the first time which is a great achievement considering it’s only their third day skiing and snowboarding. Our more advanced groups today had the chance to explore a new area and headed off to the four valleys. There were some tricky slopes to conquer but they all did amazing and impressed their instructors massively.
Back at camp this afternoon we had various activities on offer. Some children went Ice skating and made cookies whilst others made the most of the nice weather and wandered into town to treat themselves to milkshakes and crepes. As well as this we had outdoor and indoor games at camp.
Tonight our individuals had a great time on Dine out in town! For our schools, they enjoyed a torchlight hike up the mountain and took in the views of Verbier at night.
Tuesday April 4th 2017 Escape Rooms, Chalet Night, Torchlight Walk
Today was another awesome day here at Les Elfes and campers made sure they made the most of the great weather and snow.
All the groups headed out to practice all the skills they have been learning over the past days and a lot of the groups have progressed from the magic carpet to the big slopes now hitting blues and reds and really toning their skills.
This afternoon after relaxing over hot chocolate and snacks the campers all signed up for various afternoon activities some got to go try their luck escaping from the Verbier escape rooms, some baked some yummy chocolate chip cookies, some visited the village for some shopping and crepes, others had their language courses and some stayed at les elfes and played games.
Tonight all of the campers who live in the Chalet got to enjoy their at the chalet and hang out their for the night.
The rest of the campers after dinner went on a awesome torchlight walk up the mountain to check out the stars and others participated in the cube which is a bunch of different games to beat the clock.
Everyone here is now off to bed to catch up on some sleep for the big day to come tomorrow.
Crans Montana. Tuesday 4th April.
Day 3 with are new campers in Crans Montana. The sun was shining and the snow was excellent. All the groups have done amazing with the beginner groups mastering how to turn and stop on the magic carpet, whilst the advanced groups are learning how to carve on red runs.
The campers came back for snacks and hot chocolate this afternoon. We then went to the cinema in Crans to see the new Beauty and Beast film, which all the campers loved they even cheered at the end. We then came back for a delicious dinner at les Elfes with a table football competition where all the campers got competitive.
Tuesday 28th March Fashion show, Torchlight Walk, The Cube
Today was another fun filled day and the weather was great once again. Most campers have progressed to the mountain and it was some of their first time up there are they all said they really enjoyed it. All the instructors are very pleased with how hard everyone is working and how much they are progressing each day.
After skiing the camper had the chose of different activities which they all really enjoyed. These activities were to pop into town for some more shopping and maybe even a milkshake, play games at les elfes for example: football, basketball, card games, table tennis and many more. Some campers even got the option to do a fashion show where they dressed one of their friends up with different craft materials and they went down the catwalk showing off there creation.
In the evening the individuals had the option to go on dine out where they went to the village and had a lovely meal out. Another group here went on a lovely torchlight walk around verbier looking at the stunning views. The final group of campers did an activity called the cube which they all got very competitive at and competed against each other to win points for their teams.
Crans- Montana. Tuesday 28th March.
Another fun filled day had by all the campers. Again we woke up to a beautiful blue skied day. All of the beginner groups started on the mountain where they successfully navigated blue runs and a pommel lift. The more advanced groups tackled the glacier run which all groups enjoyed immensely, especially with the fantastic view.
All the campers came back for hot chocolate and snacks followed by shopping in Crans town. Where all the campers brought souvenirs for their families and amazing cakes from the bakery. This evening we played Crans vs Montana a game where two teams go head to head in games such as orange pass, balloon game and the mummy game. The teams where called the pink fluffy unicorns and the rainbow penguins.
All the campers have gone to bed now and looking forward to their fourth day skiing in Crans Montana.
Another lovely day here at camp. The snow conditions still great and everyone still improving on their skills.
After skiing the campers signed up for many different activities including swimming, team building games, town to enjoy crepes, fashion show and even a bit of relaxing yoga. Everyone then had a yummy dinner and went onto their evening activities.
In the evening we had a few activities going on. The younger children enjoyed a game show called The Cube then went off to pack as it was their last night here. We also had another game show called The Fureur which is a music game show which they all got very involved with and they then headed up to pack. All the other campers went on a nice relaxing torchlight walk through verbier.
One schools last day up the mountain tomorrow so they are looking forward to making the most the snow.
Friday 17th March – Excursion day, skiing, torchlight walk & Music Quiz
It has been a wonderful sunny day here in Verbier with all our groups enjoying their last day on the mountain and really making the most of it. Lots of our groups were working on their angulation and carving. They have all done brilliantly this week and have made so much progress up the mountain with their instructors.
Some of our campers were on excursion and they had a lovely day visiting the Cailler chocolate factory, Cheese factory and a bit of shopping in Vevey.
In the evening some of the campers did the torchlight walk. Some other campers had a games night and also did their finally bit of packing.
13th March – Skiing, Snowboarding, Egg Drop, Town, Music Video, Torchlight Walk
Yet again we’ve had another brilliant day at Les Elfes. The sun has been shining all day and the children are progressing with every run they make. A lot of the groups are heading up the mountain tomorrow so they are super happy with their achievements and will be challenging themselves even more on the blue runs.
After a very hot day the children were pretty tired back at camp but the activities didn’t stop there. We made the most of the beautiful blue sky and outside we had 60 children taking part in an egg drop challenge. The children got competitive and creative, having to design and build an object to protect an egg that we throw from a balcony. They all did very well but there were a few smashed eggs. We also had a cooking club, making some yummy cookies for desert and most our individuals walked into town and to the park.
Tonight, energy levels were still high and everyone danced away during our music video. They all had great fun working together and mixing with new people. Our individuals and one school went on a torchlight walk up the mountain and took in the Verbier views at night. They loved it! It is now time for bed as another big day skiing and snowboarding tomorrow.
Tuesday 7th March- Skiing, Snowboarding, Bracelet Making
We have had a lot of snow here at Les Elfes with it snowing all night and day, we have had a lot of happy campers as it has been amazing conditions on the mountain to ski and snowboard. Everyone coping very well with the powder snow and still improving everyday all the instructors very pleased with all the campers.
As the snow has improved, a lot of the campers went back outside to finish off their snowmen or igloos. Some have chose to be a bit more relaxed after a tiring day on the mountain and chose either to make bracelets or watch a movie.
In the evening one school went on a torchlight walk, walking and exploring the old village with their torches lighting the way. The other school did an activity called the cube which is a range of competitive games which they all really enjoyed.
Monday 20th February – Skiing, torchlight walk & music video
It has been a lovely sunny day here in Verbier with our groups settling in brilliantly and learning lots on the mountain with their instructors. Our campers on the beginner slope were really keen and improved massively so tomorrow they will get the opportunity to head up to the mountain. Lots of our experienced skiers had a super time exploring new parts of the mountain and trying out new tricks!
This afternoon the majority of camp headed out for a torchlight walk, some up the mountain to watch the sunset and others to visit the old town. Some of our other campers popped into the village for a crepe and a milkshake in the sunshine.
This evening everyone took part in the music video which was hilarious with some great dance moves. We look forward to seeing the final product on Friday.
Thursday 9th February – Ski race, BBQ, Sledging, Ice Skating, Torchlight Walk, PJ Party & Disco
CRANS MONTANA: Day 5 of skiing for our school fro, Dubai and what lovely day it was! The sun was shining for the first day of the week, which was lovely for the group. As every day the campers still have bags of energy and were whizzing around the slopes enjoying the fresh snow with the sunshine, what a perfect combination!
In the afternoon all the campers went for a bit of an ice skate, followed by a disco. Final day of skiing for the group tomorrow with the ski race in the morning!
VERBIER: Today has been a beautiful sunny day here in Verbier with one school group making the most of their last full day on the mountain. The conditions were fantastic and so everyone was happy skiing about. Race day was on all morning with each group taking part to see if they could make the quickest time. The results will be announced at tomorrows prize giving and everyone is eager to find out if they have won. Lunch was different today, it was BBQ time! It was lovely weather and a brilliant atmosphere as the children enjoyed their food out in the sunshine.
This afternoon lots of our campers went over to the ice rink for some skating, they had a brilliant time whizzing around and playing ice hockey. Other campers opted to go sledging and had a super time sliding down on the boards.
This evening we had a mixture of activities, a torchlight walk around the old town, a PJ party and disco! Everyone had lots of fun and we are all excited to see what tomorrow brings.
Crans Montana – 8th Feb – Skiing, snow tubing and Crans vs Montana indoor game
Another amazing day on the slopes for all the groups! Still loads of snow which means amazing conditions on the slopes! Midway through the week now; and after a much needed lie in this morning, all the groups were raring to go skiing! All the instructors are really impressed by the level of all the skiers, and all the campers are still having lots of fun with big smiles on their faces!
This afternoon the campers went snow tubing, which is always fun for all and this evening they took part in the Crans vs Montana game, where two teams complete challenges such as orange pass, musical chairs and many more games!
Another Snowy day here in Verbier so the powder was brilliant but extremely challenging for our skiers and snowboarders, particularly the beginners. Our instructors were super impressed with their performance and determination throughout the day in the conditions.
Lots of our individuals went on excursion today and had a fantastic time visiting different parts of Switzerland. They visited the Olympic Museum first which was very popular with the students followed by the Cailler chocolate factory. Of course everyone loved this as they got to taste different types of chocolate! Elsewhere one group had the opportunity to go to Aosta in Italy and explored a castle in the historic area before looking around the town.
Crans Montana – Tuesday 7th Feb – 3rd day on the slopes, shopping and torchlight walk
Day 3 at Crans Montana, and what a week it has already been so far! All the groups are now whizzing around the slopes, even the beginners, which is amazing progression from our students from Dubai! 🎿
Over the past couple of days, the campers have been sledging, had an epic snowman building competition, ☃️ enjoyed some indoor activities including music quiz and bowling, but have also managed to have some down time with shopping and movie night!
Mid way through the week and all the campers still have bags of energy! Very excited to see what the rest of the week brings!
Today has been another snowy day which has been perfect for our children here on camp. Many of our skiers have had the opportunity to ski around and explore different areas of the mountain today. On return to camp there was lots of smiley faces and stories of the day.
This afternoon we had lots of activities for our groups such as sledging, snow man building and spaghetti towers. This evening our school groups took part in a torchlight walk or joined in with a music game show. Our individuals baked some yummy cookies and did some design and build.
Wednesday 1st February – Skiing, excursion day, torchlight walk & La Fureur
The 1st of February has been and gone here at camp and what a brilliant day we have all had. A beautiful sunny morning and the camp was busy and full of excitement. Many of our individual campers and groups headed off for their excursions across Switzerland. Some visited the Olympic Musuem and Cailler chocolate factory, while others went to Lausanne and the Charlie Chaplin museum. Everyone had a brilliant day and enjoyed sight-seeing and shopping as well!
Our skiers also had a superb day and made some serious improvement with their instructors. They were all extremely positive and willing to learn. Our more advanced skiers rode around exploring different parts of the mountain and focused on improving their technique.
On return to camp everyone enjoyed some snacks and hot chocolate before getting ready for afternoon activities. Some took the opportunity to go out on a torchlight walk and hiked up the mountain to enjoy a beautiful view of Verbier village and ventured back with torches to guide the way! The rest of our campers enjoyed playing games or headed into town for a milkshake.
This evening everyone took part in a music game show called La Fureur. There was lots of dancing, singing & games which went down brilliantly. Everyone was super enthusiastic and involved.
