Winter Review from Verbier

Another fantastic season has come and gone here in Verbier, this winter season has flown by so fast, too fast even!

AdamWe began out training weeks at the end of November and I cannot believe that it is already the end of April and we are welcoming our first Spring groups this Saturday from India.
Where to begin on summarizing the season, well, for starters I must say a big thank you to the team of people that work at Les Elfes.
Here in Verbier we have a fantastic group of employees, from the kitchen, cleaners, drivers and monitors, instructors, receptionists and of course all the guys and girls in Head Office, for me it is a real pleasure to work with all of these individuals from all over the world, it is sad to see some people moving onto pastures new, but glad to have met each and every one of you.
And of course our groups, one of the really great aspect of working here is the diversity, we have groups and students from literally everywhere round the world. Meeting groups from different cultures, backgrounds, learning different languages ( my hindi is really coming along now, I wish ) is of course challenging, but ultimately great fun and one of the reason I love working here.
Most of our groups we know as they have been coming for a number of years, however this year we had a few new faces which was great, and welcomed schools from countries I never thought we would welcome, such as Malawi and Tanzania, a pleasure to have met you guys, and looking forward to seeing all of you again next year.
Our season has been brilliant, people always talk about how much snow we have had, and was there metres of powder. To be honest it’s a little difficult remembering that far back!! But no, in all seriousness, it has been superb, we have had all types of snow, and the resort do a fantastic job in keeping all the slopes open, safe, and in good condition, and only yesterday I was skiing Mt Fort and enjoying the last few weeks of the resort being open. For the students it has been a great last couple of months, plenty of sunshine which is great for everyone!
Every season is different, and this one has certainly not disappointed, so, to the people who control the weather, thank you.
Looking ahead Les Elfes changes shape a little, we have our Spring camps, which are a mixture of skiing and summer activities, and then we have school groups following outdoor activities programe, so a lot to look forward to. Then our Summer Camps begin first week of June, which is always good fun and looking forward to seeing our returning students and new faces as well.
So, enjoy the spring and summer wherever you are, and if you were part of Les Elfes this Winter, thank you!
